1988 – Sir Jasper’s Revenge

A light-hearted and amusing episode of the goldrush days liberally interspersed with Music Hall songs of the era. “Sir Jasper’s Revenge” is a sequel to “The Furtive Fortunes of Fickle Fate”, which was performed in Benalla in 1980.

The villain Sir Jasper endeavours to abduct the eldest daughter of the newly arrived Lynne family and also steals the claim to the Guttle Wally Mine. He fails in his attempt and comes to a sticky end. But does he?

In “Sir Jasper’s Revenge” it is two years later, and Sir Jasper returns with more dastardly skullduggery, bent on revenge with more abductions planned and with more melifluous melodies.

Performed in November 1988 at Benalla Town Hall.
